The season reaches its defining moment on Saturday with the Shaw and Partners Shannon Eckstein Iron Classic 10,000, the second event in the Shaw and Partners Double Header Weekend and the final stop of the World Ocean Series.
With another 10,000 championship points on the line, Saturday’s classic will determine the ultimate series standings. Athletes arrive off the back of Friday’s Sunset 10,000, carrying momentum, pressure, or redemption into the biggest Iron test of the season.
As the official season finale, the stakes have never been higher — and this year’s headline draw raises the bar again: Iron winners will drive away in brand new Subaru Crosstreks, with $10,000 cash in their pockets. Legacy, pride, and championship dreams all hinge on Saturday’s performance.

Across the weekend, the beach transforms from surf sports HQ into a lively after-hours hangout, with a FREE Festival Zone running both nights as part of the Shaw and Partners World Ocean Series Double Header 🌊🏄♀️
Expect elite surf competition through the day, then live music, DJs and coastal festival vibes once the sun goes down.
Saturday night’s lineup is led by ARIA-nominated Kita Alexander, joined by Jourdan Evans and a stellar mix of local artists including Taylah Rose.

Over two magical days, the best ocean athletes come together to battle for supremacy, carrying their club flags with pride.
Securing the series for a further three years is a huge coup as we look to expand our city’s major events calendar.
Events like this unite and they excite. Hosting the 2026 Ocean Series here at Northcliffe confirms we are on the right track when it comes to attracting the very best sporting carnivals.
This year’s program includes the Surf Ironman Qualifying Series, Australian Surf Ski Series, First National Board Series, Australian Surf Swim Series, Australian Taplin Series and Australian Beach Flags Series – plenty of silverware to be shared across all clubs.
I encourage competitors, officials, sponsors and fans to stay on a little longer and enjoy everything we have to offer. From the beaches to theme parks, restaurants and retail precincts, it’s time to ‘Get Up and Gold Coast’.
