MURPHY HOMES MAROOCHY CLASSIC 7,000

Murphy Homes Maroochy Classic 7,000 — A Massive Sunshine Coast Showdown

The Shaw and Partners World Ocean Series returns to the Sunshine Coast for the Murphy Homes Maroochy Classic 7,000, set for 23–24 January 2026 at the iconic Maroochydore Surf Life Saving Club. With over $60,000 in cash and prizes on the line and 7,000 critical series points up for grabs, this is one of the biggest and most influential events on the summer racing calendar.

Across two huge days, Australia’s top Ironmen and Ironwomen, along with the nation’s best board, ski and swim talent, will battle in fast, technical and high-intensity racing on one of the country’s most dynamic stretches of coastline. Big crowds, big stakes, and big performances — the Maroochy Classic always delivers, and 2026 is shaping up to be its biggest edition yet.

Why we do this

"The Shaw and Partners World Ocean Series was created to connect — to bring together athletes, clubs, and communities who share a passion for the ocean.

It’s about more than racing. It’s about celebrating the people who make this sport what it is — the volunteers, officials, and families who show up, rain or shine, and the next generation who are inspired by them.

Every event is a reminder of what makes our surf community so special — the challenge, the camaraderie, and the simple joy of being in the ocean.”
