Southern States Showdown is back and so is the Shaw and Partners World Ocean series Warrnambool Battle of the Bay 5,000 pts round. Kicking off the Southern State Showdown is the town of Warrnambool for people that haven’t been its nestled in the southwest of Victorias coastline . Its raw , unpredictable and home to some current elite Shaw and Partners world ocean series athletes. Stephan Kerr legend of Victorian Board paddling who has in recent years showed up many interstaters in the Shaw and Partners World Ocean Series Battle of the Bay and is entered and ready to showcase some class vintage board paddling.

Warrnambool has had a successful past decade in surf sports. With currently having some elite athletes being a graduate of their program in Young Gun Mia Cook and Brayden Casamento who has edged his way in being one of the Worlds Best board paddlers. In the past decade their board squad has been arguably the best board squad Victoria has seen. This weekend we will see future stars come to light and veterans of the southern states come back and race at Warrnambool beach.
