The Shaw and Partners World Ocean Series Brighton Jetty Classic (5,000 pts) delivered was one of South Australia’s greatest weekend of surf sports racing on Adelaide’s metropolitan coastline, with flat water racing , standout winds , and valuable points on the line as the Southern States showdown comes to the pointy end . Brighton Beach once again proved why it’s such a testing venue demanding great fitness clean execution, and the ability to perform under pressure. In the Men’s Board, Robert Burfield showed composure and power to claim the win ahead of Cooper Bristow and Harris Henderson, while the Women’s Board belonged to Sadie Proctor, who stamped her authority with a strong victory over Hannah Deacon and Jessica Burton. The swim races were just as competitive, with Manly’s Hayden Cotter taking out the Men’s Swim after a fast and Hannah Deacon backing up her board podium with a dominant win in the Women’s Swim.
The ski racing showcased depth and experience across both fields. Xabian Cederblad claimed top honours in the Men’s Ski ahead of Tom May and Daniel Ryan, while Laura Campbell delivered a polished performance to win the Women’s Ski, fending off Anneka Kidd and Amy Buechter. With conditions demanding precision on the legs, every small mistake proved costly across the finals.
The feature events closed out a massive weekend of racing. Hayden Cotter capped off a huge meet with a commanding Ironman victory, adding to his swim win and underlining his all-round class, while Hannah Deacon completed an outstanding weekend with the Ironwoman title, backing up multiple podiums across the program.
