As the 2025 Shaw and Partners World Ocean Series +  The Race One World Youth Championships rolls into Port Macquarie  a coastline where the ocean is a true cultural touchstone.

Three days of surf, speed, and coastal excitement! From the Port Macquarie 7000 to the Race One World Youth Championships, watch elite athletes and rising stars compete on our stunning beaches.

For the world’s best, the pressure is beginning to mount as the battle for overall series supremacy intensifies. Not every athlete has hit the start line yet, and this round marks the season opener for professionals like Ali Day and Matt Bevilacqua, who are set to make their marks on the series.

They’ll be joined by emerging stars such as Ethan Callaghanand perhaps, this weekend, a new name will rise from the surf — one we don’t yet know, but soon won’t forget.

In the women’s field, the depth of talent is undeniable. The likes of Tiarnee Massie and Lucy Derbyshire will dual across all events . Among the next generation, a few young guns are starting to make their presence felt. For many, Port Macquarie is a chance to build confidence, test themselves against the established names, and quietly make a statement as future contenders in the series.

On Sunday 2 November, the spotlight shifts to the sport’s future at the Race One World Youth Championships, where rising stars from around the globe will compete for international titles and the honour of being crowned world champions.

The Race One World Youth Championships will shine a light on the future of surf sport, bringing together the next generation of ocean athletes from around the world. Competitors will take on a series of challenging races designed to test their surf skills, endurance, and adaptability across multiple disciplines. This is the grassroots of surf life saving . It’s a rare opportunity for rising stars to compete on a stage like this, experience world-class racing, and showcase the depth of emerging talent within the sport. Community, Culture, and Coastal Spirit:

Across the weekend thousands of athlete will descend down to, the Wauchope–Bonny Hills Surf Life Saving Club will be at the heart of the action, hosting spectators, families, and athletes for three days of racing, food, and entertainment. The club’s Beaches at Bonny Hills Restaurant, Bonny’s Beach Café, and seaside bar will serve up local favourites and refreshments throughout the event, with live entertainment creating a vibrant, beachside festival atmosphere. 

Forecast:

Bonny Hills is shaping up for a classic spring weekend of racing. Friday is set to kick off with clean 3–4ft surf and light offshore winds early, before a moderate north-easterly breeze develops through the afternoon. Saturday and Sunday ease slightly to 2–3ft, with mostly light winds and warm temperatures in the mid-20s. A few passing showers may roll through on Friday and Saturday, but Sunday looks mostly sunny perfect for the Race One World Youth Championships.

COMPETITION SCHEDULE :

Friday 31 October:
The weekend kicks off on Friday afternoon with the Open Ironman and Ironwoman heats, setting the tone for an exciting few days of racing.

Saturday 1 November:
A full day of racing action, with all finals kicking off at 2pm when the best in the business go head-to-head for vital series points.

Sunday 2 November:
The spotlight shifts to the sport’s future with the Race One Nipper Championships, showcasing the next generation of ocean athletes as they compete for junior honours and club pride.
